There are only 27 first-magnitude springs exist in Florida, and Alexander Springs is by far one of the easiest to enjoy.


Alexander Springs has 70 million gallons of crystal clear water that is pumped in each day. With it's crystal clear beautiful water that is a constant 72 degrees all year long.


With a broad and naturally gently sloped spring pool ripples play across the sand bottom as small fish dart about. Surrounded by a floodplain forest of maples, sweetgum and cabbagepalms, this recreation area feels almost tropical.

Alexander Springs is a treat for divers.Open water diving enables you to explore the broad mouth of the spring.Exploring the basin and spring head you will find a wide variety of aquatic life.

Alexander Springs is the only place in the Ocala National Forest where scuba diving is permitted.

To dive Alexander Springs Recreation Area, only Open Water Scuba Diver Certification is required. No solo diving is allowed. 

Entering the cave system or use of lights is not permitted. The Dive Place can help you obtain certifications prior to this amazing adventure.
