The Journey with Gentle Giants experience will plunge into the depths of Ocean Voyager and come closer than ever before to a vast diversity of species from three different oceans.
Explore the 6.3 million gallon tank and get up close and personal with the thousands of fish including whale sharks, zebra sharks, sawfish, leopard whiprays, bowmouth guitarfish, humphead wrasses, pompano and several species of rays. That's just to name a few.

Located in Downtown Atlanta right next to the World of Coca-Cola and Centennial Olympic Park The Georgia Aquarium Journey With Gentile Giants is an exploration of the Ocean Voyager exhibit and introduction to the Georgia Aquarium conservation and whale shark research program.
The Journey With Gentle Giants Rebreather Experience dive lasts more than an hour using the Poseidon Se7en Rebreather.
Open Water certified divers ages 15 and up are eligible to participate in the Rebreather Experience program. All gear is provided for the Rebreather Experience. You may bring your own personal mask and dive computer.
All you will need to bring is your swimsuit. If diving, you will have to provide proof of open water certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization, along with photo identification. Georgia Aquarium will supply a locker for each participants personal items. The locker rooms have shower facilities and are equipped with bottles of water, towels, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. You will need to bring a back for your wet items.
Cameras of any kind are not permitted in the water.
There will be Instructors and Dive Masters in the water with you at all times. The Georgia Aquarium Dive Team members are CPR, first aid and emergency oxygen trained. Please note that the dive programs are a guided tour; they are not a free swim.
The water temperature is 76ºF.
Program price includes all equipment, certificate of participation, exclusive t-shirt, and souvenir photo.
Friends and family can watch you in the Ocean Voyager exhibit at the tunnel and big window. They must purchase general admission tickets.
Guests will be escorted around the dry side during the event for the best opportunity to see the participants. Please do not leave minor children (under age 12) unattended with the Aquarium Volunteers during your dive experience.
Please go to the Animal Interactions desk, located next to the Ocean Voyager Built by The Home Depot, to check in 45 minutes prior to your experience.
Pre-Paid Parking
For your convenience, you can pay for parking in advance online. You will need to print and bring your pre-paid parking ticket with you in order to enter the parking deck. You will be asked to re-scan your ticket in order to exit the parking deck after your visit.
There is no re-entry allowed on pre-paid parking.

Diving with the Journey with Gentile Giants Rebreather Experience requires that all participants must be ages 15 and older. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult in the water.
Proof of Open Water SCUBA certification or higher from a nationally or internationally recognized organization must be provided, along with photo identification. All participants must have the program liability waiver and animal interactive program guidelines signed and dated prior to participating in the program. Due to the nature of caring for animals, Georgia Aquarium reserves the right to modify, cancel and/ or reschedule programs without notice. Reasonable accommodations will be made to reschedule guests as effectively as possible.
The locker room and dive platform to meet ADA regulations. When you make a reservation, please let us know you have special needs and someone from the dive program will call you prior to your visit to review your special needs, mobility issues and equipment.
We can accommodate wetsuit sizes and equipment sizes for people who weigh between 45 lbs and 320 lbs.

Cancellations and no-shows will not be refunded or rescheduled. Guests arriving late (after the required program check-in time) will not be permitted to participate in the program and will not be refunded or rescheduled. We encourage guests to arrive at the Aquarium with plenty of time to park, enter, and check into the program. Please plan accordingly.

Failure to cancel before the cut off date will result in the forfeit price of this Adventure.
