Florida Keys Weekend

The waters offer choice Florida Keys reef and unforgetable wreck diving. Many reefs are only 10 to 20 feet deep and make for amazing shallow dives. 

Join us as we explore Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary. Named after the HMS Looe which supposedly ran aground there in 1744. With a rich history and its unique shape and varying depths, Looe Key is an excellent dive site for people of all skill levels. 

The reef is home to over 150 species of fish including yellowtail, angelfish, parrotfish, barracuda, sergeant majors, and moray eel. The lucky diver can also see several shark and ray species. After 7,000 years of coral growth, about fifty species are present, many named for the shapes of their namesakes on land. These corals include staghorn, elkhorn, star, brain, and fire corals. A new diving attraction called the Adolphus Busch was added as an artificial reef about three miles west of Looe Key. This 210-foot ship makes a great wreck diving location this is also a great place to go lobstering in the Keys.

Water clarity is mostly excellent and sea conditions are generally moderate. Enjoy world class diving. Unbelievable shallow patch reefs such as Pennekamp, Molasses Davis, Conch, Alligator and Pickles reefs with abundant coral and marine life await to be explored. Some of the best wreck diving such as the intentionally scuttles 287 foot Eagle. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE!

To make this an adventure to remember we have organized a weekend of diving that will cater to divers of all levels and experience. Though the weekend is scheduled from September 13th through September 15th the diving dates are flexible with options to cater to those divers who may choose to stay longer, or may only have limited time. We believe this will give you greater flexibility to allow divers the opportunity to take advantage of an adventure of a lifetime!

Boat Gratuities, Transportation, And Meals.

Diving in the Florida Keys requires a minimum of Open Water Certification is required. All divers MUST have proof of Scuba Certification. Divers are encouraged and strongly recommended to have Enhanced Air Nitrox certification and Advanced Open Water Certification to enhance their dive experience. Night Diver Certification is STRONGLY recommended  and may be rquired for night diving. For any deep and wreck diving, Advanced Open Water Diver Certification may be required. The Dive Place can help you obtain any of these certifications prior to this amazing adventure.

All scheduled Boat diving will be from Islamorada. Optional additional diving and hotel accommodations will be available for those wishing to extend their stay for an additional cost.

Payment must be made at the time of reservation. Deadline for reservations is September 3rd 2021. Failure to make payment will result in cancellation of reservation. Please note we do enforce a 21 day cancellation policy. August 29th is the cancelation deadline. Failure to cancel before this date will forfeit price of the Dive Adventure. ALL divers are REQUIRED to carry a Surface Marker and Timing Device. No spearguns, spear poles, or hunting equipment. DAN Diver and Dan Trip Insurance is strongly recommended.
